From Crepes and baguettes to cheese and champagne – France is famous the world over for its food and drink.

France is also well know for its escargot (snails) and frogs legs however you are also likely to find the locals dining on other French specialties like include duck l’Orange, beef Burgundy and sea food.

Croissants are just the beginning as far as pastries and deserts go with, profiteroles, chocolate eclairs and other choux pastry products available at any patisserie along with other tarts and maybe even a creme brulee.

Lyon is considered the food capital of France while Paris is home to some excellent restaurants and fine cuisine.

Perhaps the most famous wines to come from the vineyards of France are those of the champagne region while those from Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Rhone and the Beaujolais. Popular beers include Kronenberg and 1664 while the French are also well known for mineral waters such as Evian, Badoit and Perrier.

All this however is only scratching the surface of the gastronomic delights on offer as you travel or tour through France.
